Welcome to Briarwood
Briarwood is a neighborhood of nearly five hundred one and two story single family homes. Briarwood homes are three or four bedroom and have two or three car garages. Most homes are between 1¸800 and 3¸000 square feet of living space; many are over 3¸000 square feet. The majority of homes in the Briarwood subdivision were built in the 1980s and 1990s.
Briarwood was developed in fourteen additions or plats beginning at the north entrance, Santa Fe, and generally working to the south. Each plat has its own covenants and deed restrictions on file with the Johnson County Register of Deeds. All plats are covered under a single set of bylaws.
The Briarwood Homeowners Board of Directors is made up of 9 members who are residents of Briarwood. The board of directors serve on a volunteer basis, generally for three years. No board member receives compensation for their time, talents, and services.

On behalf of the Briarwood Homeowners Board of Director and the residents of Briarwood we welcome you! Our community is located in Olathe, Kansas, 20 miles south of Kansas City on Interstate 35 (Exit 218). Between Blackbob and Mur-Len one mile east of I-35 and south of Santa Fe (Also, K150 & 135th Street). Olathe (which means “Beautiful”) is a growing City of about 100,000 residents and is the County Seat of Johnson County.
Come see Briarwood, walk or drive our streets, visit with the neighbors you see. You will quickly see and learn why we love to call this home.
You will find quiet gently winding and rolling tree-lined streets, each with well cared for homes and yards. In the center of Briarwood you find Tomahawk Elementary School. Tomahawk is part of the outstanding Olathe Public School system. Tomahawk is a Blue Ribbon award winning school serving K-6. If you have small children, be sure to stop in. Both the Jr. & Sr. Olathe High Schools serving Briarwood are very close by, both are within less than 1.5 miles.
There are ample shopping and dining choices all within a very convenient proximity to the neighborhood. If you enjoy getting some fresh air, Briarwood is located on the Indian Creek Greenway Trail. You can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while riding your bike, roller blading, walking, running or just sitting on a park bench. There are endless miles for you enjoyment.
